Position Description Business Division: CreAgroDepartment: BiologyLocation:UdaipurPosition Title: Research Scientist BiologyReporting to (Title): Group LeaderLevel: E2-E4Position PurposeContribute to the discovery and pre-development of innovative solutions in agrochemistry, namely new a.i.s for crop protection adding significant value to the business of PIContribute to the delivery of a sustainable flow of development products on mid-term (>3 years)Contribute to the ensuring of IP protection Strategic ResponsibilitiesActive support of the philosophy, values and strategy of PI IndustriesEfficient contribution to the overall success of PI CREAGRO by driving innovation according to objectives and targets being set by the PI CREAGRO management teamFullfilling requirements from business (reflected in research targets), biology (reflected in biological efficacy profile)Support of Development functions within the frame of given expertise and resources, for instance reflected in requirement for human and environmental safety and for regulatory affairesIdentifying proprietary research results and taking appropriate measures to maximize the value of intellectual property for PI CREAGRO (patent applications)Contribute to competitor intelligenceSupport GL & Head of Biology with special focus on personnel, target setting, development of strengths, building of knowhow, feedback and coaching Operational ResponsibilitiesSupport establishing a state-of-the-art Field Research Station for microplot trials (skills and capabilities, technical facilities, operations and operational relationships)Conducting high quality field trialsData collection, documentation, analysing and reporting of all research results obtained within the area of responsibilityMaintain excellent rapot with local bodies, governament agencies and research orginizations for smooth operation of the field stationOrganizing of all kind of required support from internal (PI) and external sourcesSupport of other departments of PI CREAGRO and support of activities in later phases (>1) as required with specific emphasis on biologyContribute and adhere to all EHS standards of PI Financial ResponsibilitiesContribute to budget proposalsContribute to budgetary controls within the area of responsibility People ResponsibilitiesEnsure smooth working of the department to maintain high morale of the workforceContinuously improve processes to ensure quality and efficiencyIdentify development needs of the team and take action to address the sameImplement initiatives to build desired culture in the biology teamDrive initiatives to become the employer of choice Education QualificationPhD or MSc in Agriculture(Plant Pathology/ Entomology) from a reputed University / InstituteKnowledge of specific biological disciplines (e. g. Plant pathology, Entomology, Plant physiology, Agronomy etc.) Work ExperiencePost academic industrial research experience (2-5 years) appreciatedExpert knowledge concerning Phytopathological & Entomological techniques, Agronomy, Field trials is appreciatedExperience in working in multi-centre, multi-national environmentSuccessful track record Industry to be Hired fromAgribusiness (Crop Protection/Seed/University) Functional CompetenciesJob KnowledgeGood experimentation skillsAnalytical Skills Interaction Complexity and Team Work .
