Are you a talented illustrator with a passion for bringing children's stories to life? We're seeking a skilled Graphic Designer to create captivating illustrations for a series of children's story books. This is a contractual role, perfect for freelancers who thrive in creative, project-based environments. If you have a knack for whimsical, age-appropriate designs that spark imagination in young readers, we'd love to hear from you

Key Responsibilities
:

  • Develop original illustrations, character designs, and layouts for children's story books, ensuring they align with the narrative and target age group (typically 3-8 years old).
  • Collaborate closely with authors, editors, and the creative team to iterate on concepts and incorporate feedback.
  • Produce high-quality digital artwork, including full-page spreads, spot illustrations, and cover designs.
  • Maintain consistency in style, color palettes, and themes across multiple book projects.
  • Meet project deadlines while delivering polished, print-ready files.

Qualifications and Skills
:

  • Proven experience in graphic design and illustration, with a portfolio showcasing work for children's books, educational materials, or similar projects.
  • Strong proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, or equivalent tools (e.g., Procreate for digital sketching).
  • Understanding of child-friendly design principles, including vibrant colors, simple shapes, and engaging storytelling through visuals.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently on a contract basis.
  • Bonus: Experience with print production, animation, or multimedia elements for enhanced book formats (e.g., interactive e-books).
