Role Overview
The Head of Modular Division will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of the modular business, including sales performance, design excellence, execution quality, factory coordination, profitability, and team leadership. This is a senior leadership role requiring strong business acumen, operational control, and the ability to scale teams and revenue.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business & Revenue Leadership
- Own P&L responsibility for the modular division
- Drive sales growth, revenue targets, and profitability
- Develop and execute business strategies to expand market share
- Set pricing strategies, margin controls, and cost optimization plans
- Build strong relationships with clients, developers, architects, and channel partners
2. Sales & Client Management
- Lead and mentor the sales team to achieve monthly and annual targets
- Participate in key client meetings, negotiations, and closures
- Oversee lead conversion, sales funnel management, and forecasting
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and repeat business
3. Design Leadership
- Head the modular design team (kitchens, wardrobes, storage, custom modular solutions)
- Ensure design accuracy, feasibility, and cost alignment
- Approve final drawings, BOQs, and material specifications
- Maintain innovation in design trends, materials, and finishes
4. Execution & Operations Management
- Oversee project execution from order confirmation to handover
- Coordinate with factory/production, procurement, installation, and quality teams
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and as per design
- Resolve execution challenges, site issues, and escalations efficiently
5. Factory & Vendor Coordination
- Work closely with factory/production teams for capacity planning and timelines
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and SOPs
- Manage vendor relationships, material sourcing, and cost control
- Implement process improvements for productivity and waste reduction
6. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, inspire, and manage designers, execution managers, site teams, and sales professionals
- Set clear KPIs, performance metrics, and accountability frameworks
- Recruit, train, and develop high-performing teams
- Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and excellence
7. Quality, Compliance & Process Control
- Establish and monitor quality benchmarks across design, manufacturing, and installation
- Implement SOPs, MIS reporting, and workflow systems
- Ensure compliance with safety, site standards, and company policies
Required Skills & CompetenciesTechnical & Functional Skills
- Deep knowledge of modular furniture systems (kitchens, wardrobes, storage)
- Strong understanding of materials, hardware, fittings, and finishes
- Expertise in design-to-execution workflows
- Proficiency in AutoCAD / design review tools (hands-on knowledge preferred)
Leadership & Business Skills
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Strong negotiation and client-handling skills
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Financial acumen with P&L understanding
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design / Architecture / Civil / Engineering / Management
- MBA or equivalent management qualification is an added advantage
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 10+ years of experience in modular furniture or interior execution businesses
- Has handled large teams across sales, design, and execution
- Strong exposure to factory-based modular production
- Result-oriented leader with a hands-on approach
- Experience in scaling modular operations is highly preferred
