Position: Lead Software Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Lead Software Engineer with strong experience in Java, Spring MVC, JSP, Spring boot. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications using a modern Java stack with PostgreSQL as the backend.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable web applications using Java, Spring MVC, REST APIs, JSP
  • Create and maintain database structures and queries in PostgreSQL/MySQL
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver quality software
  • Ensure performance, security, and responsiveness of applications
  • Participate in code reviews and mentor junior team members
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues as needed
  • Must be open to cross skill in Full lifecycle development (a road to be a system architect) including react/angular, python, DevOps.

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Java with 5+ years of hands-on experience
  • Deep understanding of Spring MVC framework
  • Solid experience with JSP, JSTL
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
  • Ability to write SQL procedures and functions
  • Experience in developing RESTful services and integrating APIs
  • Must have experience in Multi-tenant SaaS application architecture
  • Good understanding of software development life cycle and best practices
  • Must have leveraged coding assistant tools - Claude/Copilot/Cursor and understands utility and limitations both.
  • Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum development processes
