Job Description: Lead Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Overview
Skilled and experienced Lead Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to manage mechanical integrity, reliability, and performance of our biogas production facility to achieve production 20 TPD CBG. This role requires strong technical expertise in preventive/predictive maintenance of rotating equipment, with leadership and project management abilities, experience in anaerobic digestion systems will be added advantage.

Plant Station Manager with dotted line reporting to Maintenance Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical Reliability & Maintenance Strategy
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve mechanical maintenance plans for all plant equipment like feedstock shredding systems, pumps, compressors, gas handling and purification systems, hot water systems, digesters, mixers, piping, valves etc.
- Create and preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance plans to improve asset reliability / uptime and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Prepare critical list of spare parts
- Prepare root-cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures, finalize and implement corrective actions, and ideate for preventive actions.
- Define and monitor maintenance KPIs like MTBF, MTTR, OEE.
Equipment & Process Expertise
Ability to work on technical part of Biogas plant including:
- Digesters and agitators
- Gas handling and filtration equipment
- Shredding equipment, extruders etc.
- Hot water systems
- Centrifugal & Positive displacement Pumps, valves, piping, and instrumentation
Ability to read drawings like P&IDs, GA, SLD, Process flow diagrams and O&M manuals, maintenance procedures etc.
Project Management & Engineering Support
- Ability to read, attend and express in mechanical design reviews for modifications, debottlenecking, and capacity expansion projects.
- Ability to manage maintenance improvements, equipment upgrades, retrofits, and efficiency improvement projects.
- Coordinate with Electrical, Instrumentation, and Civil teams for integrated plant changes.
Safety, Compliance, and Quality
- Enforce a strong safety culture; ensure all mechanical activities comply with company and industry HSE policies and permit-to-work procedures.
- Ability to read and understand risk assessments (HAZOP) for mechanical changes and maintenance work.
- Ability to prepare Job safety analysis for high risk safety jobs.
Soft Skills
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical technicians, supervisors, and rotating equipment specialists.
- Conduct site-based training programs on best practices, condition monitoring analytics
- Communicate status, risks, and opportunities to Plant Leadership and stakeholders.
Candidate should be B.E / B Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 812 years of mechanical maintenance experience in biogas, waste-to-energy, wastewater treatment, or petrochemical industries, at least 3-4 years in a leadership/lead engineer role with direct supervision of maintenance personnel will be preferred. Some experience with anaerobic digestion systems and biogas plants will be added advantage.
