Solar Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Solar Design Engineer to lead the design and implementation of innovative PVbatterydiesel hybrid systems at Solon India. As a Solar Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating detailed system designs, preparing technical documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects in India and abroad. Your expertise will be crucial in developing cost-effective, high-quality solutions that meet our clients' needs. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Renewable Energy, coupled with 5+ years of experience in solar PV design, including at least 2 years focused on hybrid projects. Proficiency in PVSyst, HOMER, and AutoCAD is essential, along with strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Responsibilities

System Design and Engineering

• Develop detailed electrical and mechanical designs for PVbatterydiesel hybrid systems, including containerized solutions.
• Perform string sizing calculations, fault analysis, and earthing system design to ensure system safety and performance.
• Create single-line diagrams, layouts, and detailed schematics for solar PV systems and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
• Conduct PV system modeling and simulation using PVSyst and HOMER software to optimize system performance and energy yield.
• Design and specify appropriate BOS components, ensuring compatibility and compliance with project requirements.
• Optimize system design for cost-effectiveness, reliability, and adherence to industry best practices and standards.

Technical Documentation and Quality Assurance

• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including BOMs, specifications, and design reports.
• Develop detailed technical specifications for PV modules, inverters, batteries, and other system components.
• Support testing and commissioning activities, ensuring systems meet performance and safety standards.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on design deliverables to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry codes, standards, and regulations related to solar PV and energy storage systems.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant safety and environmental regulations.

Project Coordination and Collaboration

• Collaborate with EPC, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Liaise with suppliers and vendors to evaluate technical proposals and ensure timely delivery of components.
• Provide on-site support during installation and commissioning phases as needed.
• Work closely with project managers to develop project timelines and budgets.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical expertise and guidance.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project alignment and success.

Research and Development

• Stay updated on the latest advancements in solar PV and energy storage technologies.
• Conduct research on new products and technologies to improve system performance and reduce costs.
• Evaluate the feasibility of integrating new technologies into existing system designs.
• Develop and implement innovative solutions to address technical challenges in hybrid system design.
• Contribute to the development of intellectual property and technical expertise within the company.
• Participate in industry conferences and workshops to expand knowledge and network with peers.

Reporting and Compliance

• Prepare regular progress reports on design activities and project milestones.
• Maintain accurate records of design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental and safety regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory filings.
• Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Document lessons learned from past projects to improve future designs.
