We are seeking a Senior Android Developer with deep expertise in IoT integration and a strong understanding of AI-enhanced mobile development. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of Android applications that connect seamlessly with IoT-enabled fitness and wellness devices. You will also explore how AI/ML capabilities can be integrated into mobile and IoT ecosystems to deliver smarter, more personalized user experiences.

This is a senior-level position where you will collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and data scientists to create high-performing, scalable, and future-ready Android solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end development of Android applications with IoT device integration (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, MQTT, BLE).
  • Architect and maintain scalable, modular, and high-performance codebases.
  • Implement secure real-time data streaming, synchronization, and storage between IoT devices and mobile apps.
  • Integrate AI/ML-driven features such as activity recognition, predictive insights, personalization, and natural language interfaces.
  • Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to optimize device-app communication protocols.
  • Work closely with product and design teams to create intuitive user experiences for IoT-enabled apps.
  • Optimize applications for performance, battery usage, and device compatibility across Android versions.
  • Mentor junior developers and ensure adherence to best practices in Android development, IoT integration, and AI adoption.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in Android, IoT ecosystems, and AI frameworks to drive innovation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Android development with strong expertise in Java and Kotlin.
  • Proven experience in IoT mobile app integration (Bluetooth/BLE, MQTT, REST APIs, WebSockets).
  • Familiarity with IoT protocols, device pairing, and hardware-software communication flows.
  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML integration on mobile (TensorFlow Lite, ML Kit, Core ML, or ONNX).
  • Solid understanding of mobile app architecture patterns (MVVM, MVP, Clean Architecture).
  • Proficiency with Android Jetpack, Retrofit, Room, and dependency injection frameworks (e.g., Hilt/Dagger).
  • Strong debugging, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Must-have excellent communication skills—with the ability to collaborate effectively across hardware, firmware, product, and design teams, and to present technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
