Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and maintain clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation including user guides, installation manuals, API documentation, configuration guides, release notes, and online help systems.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and QA engineers to gather technical information and understand product features, workflows, and architecture.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly content tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Plan and manage documentation projects, ensuring timely delivery within defined quality and scope.
  • Create and maintain content following company style guides and documentation standards.
  • Participate in product design and review sessions to ensure documentation accuracy and completeness.
  • Review peer documentation for quality, consistency, and technical accuracy.
  • Manage content repositories and version control systems to maintain document integrity and traceability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of documentation processes, tools, and templates.
  • Mentor junior writers and ensure adherence to documentation best practices.

Required Skills & ExperienceTechnical Writing Expertise

  • Proven experience (59 years) in technical writing for enterprise-grade networking, cloud, or security products.
  • Strong understanding of Layer 4Layer 7 networking concepts (e.g., servers, firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers, and microservices).
  • Demonstrated ability to author complex technical documentation with accuracy and clarity.
  • Familiarity with documenting APIs, SDKs, REST services, and command-line tools.

Tools & Technologies

  • Proficiency in documentation tools such as:

  • MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, RoboHelp, WebWorks Publisher, Microsoft Office Suite, and SnagIt.

  • Experience with Visio (for diagrams and architecture visuals).

  • Exposure to JavaScript for enhancing documentation interactivity is an added advantage.

  • Hands-on experience with version control and collaboration systems such as:

  • SVN, Perforce, Git, Jira, ClearCase, and SharePoint (or similar repository systems).

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a passion for quality documentation.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple documentation projects in parallel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, Technical Communication, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications in Technical Writing or Information Design are a plus.
