About Access Life:

Access Life Assistance Foundation is a registered Indian not-for-profit organization (Section 8 company) dedicated to providing holistic, multi-disciplinary supportive care to underprivileged families whose children are undergoing cancer treatment. Founded in 2014, Access Life offers a loving, temporary home to children battling cancer and their caregivers, helping them navigate the emotional, social, and logistical challenges of treatment. From a single centre in Chembur, Mumbai, the organization has expanded to 11 childhood cancer care centres across India, including locations in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Coimbatore, Madurai, Chandigarh, and Manipal.

To date, Access Life has supported over 2,900 children and their families, offering more than just accommodation, the foundation provides nutritional support, psychosocial counseling, safe transport to hospitals, educational activities, and recreational programs in a clean and caring environment. By bridging the critical gap between hospital treatment and everyday living needs, Access Life ensures that children fighting cancer have the best possible chance of completing their treatment journey with dignity, safety, and hope.

Job Summary

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a critical leadership role in ensuring Access Life's long-term financial sustainability and governance as the organization scales nationally. Reporting to the Board and working closely with senior leadership and fundraising teams, the CFO will align financial strategy with Vision 2035, enabling expansion to 300+ family units across India.

Job Duties And Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Drive multi-year financial strategies aligned with Vision 2035
  • Lead financial modeling, scenario planning, and expansion forecasting
  • Balance growth with sustainability and risk management

2. Governance & Compliance

  • Serve as the principal financial advisor to the Board and Finance & Audit Committee
  • Present financial dashboards, cost frameworks, and risk assessments
  • Ensure full compliance with FCRA, CSR, Income Tax, and Companies Act (Sec. 8)

3.Fundraising & Donor Engagement

  • Collaborate on donor proposals with embedded true-cost accounting
  • Build donor confidence through transparent financial reporting
  • Drive narratives around corpus funds, reserves, and impact metrics

4.Financial Management & Controls

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and analysis across centers.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and audit readiness.
  • Implement cost optimization and efficient resource allocation.

5.Risk Management

  • Establish a comprehensive enterprise risk framework.
  • Conduct structural reviews, preventive audits, and contingency planning.

6.Corpus & Investment Stewardship

  • Manage corpus, reserves, and investment strategy for stability.
  • Develop capital allocation policies aligned with NGO best practices.

7.Finance Systems & Technology

  • Lead the finance tech roadmap (ERP4Impact, MIS).
  • Integrate systems across operations, fundraising, and HR.

8.Team Leadership & Capacity Building

  • Mentor the finance team and plan for leadership succession.
  • Build financial capabilities across regional and program teams.
  • Foster a culture of transparency and accountability.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred; MBA (Finance), CPA, or equivalent also considered.
  • Experience: 12–15 years in finance leadership; minimum 5 years as CFO/Head of Finance/Controller. NGO, CSR, or compliance-heavy sector experience essential.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Indian regulatory frameworks (FCRA, CSR, Income Tax, Companies Act Sec. 8)
  • Donor reporting, corpus/endowment management, audit compliance
  • Financial modeling, ERP, and MIS systems
  • Leadership Skills: Strong communication, board engagement, and donor-facing presence.

Pay: ₹85, ₹125,000.00 per month
