Position: Grant Advisor (Equivalent to Assistant Manager)

Reporting Office: Deputy Registrar - Research, Office of Research

Key responsibilities: Pre-award Support

  • Identify Funding Opportunities: Scoping and identifying funding opportunities available at the National and International levels and their dissemination to faculty members
  • Advisory Support: Pre-application grants advice to the faculty on the funding opportunity, scheme, and the deadline.
  • Institutional Registrations: Create, manage, and renew Institutional registrations on various funding agency portals.
  • Submission Templates: Create a template for submission of research proposals to various funding agencies.
  • Proposal Review: First-hand review of research proposals, steering review through the research review committee.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Liaise with other departments to fulfil the requirements of the application.
  • Due diligence: Perform necessary due diligence and issue endorsement certificate or any other document as required in proposal submission.
  • Submission Tracker and Reporting: Maintain a comprehensive tracker for submission and archive all relevant documents. Create various reports as required to be presented to various statutory committees.
  • Startup Research Grant: Assist new joining faculty in the submission of proposals for internal seed grants and their timely review.
  • Stakeholders Engagement: Outreach to the funding agency for networking as required.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively across teams and departments within the university.
  • Additional Duties: Undertake other responsibilities as assigned to support the offices mission and goals.

Educational qualification

  • Ph.D. In Science or Engineering
  • Proven communication skills, time-management, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to analyze, summarize and communicate information is desired.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable experience

  • A candidate with experience in the submission of a project proposal will be preferred.
