Role Overview
We are seeking a Techno-Commercial Presales Specialist with a strong understanding of fundamental financial data, analytics workflows, and data-driven decision processes.
The ideal candidate will act as the bridge between the product and the prospect, helping potential clients understand the value, applicability, and ROI of GFDL's Fundamental Data solutions.
You will work closely with the sales and product teams to qualify leads, conduct demos, and drive early-stage prospect interactions through to successful handover to the sales closure team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Presales & Client Engagement
- Engage with inbound and outbound leads at the early stages of the sales cycle to understand client needs and use cases.
- Conduct deep-dive discovery sessions to map client pain points and align them with GFDLs Fundamental Data offerings.
- Deliver product presentations, demos, and proof-of-concepts highlighting business value and technical fit.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects through consultative engagement.
2. Solution Design & Proposal Support
- Translate business needs into tailored data and analytics solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to prepare customised proposals, pricing, and technical documentation.
- Work with the Product and Data teams to ensure client requirements are well-understood and feasible.
3. Technical Understanding
- Develop an in-depth understanding of GFDL's Fundamental Data architecture, APIs, and delivery models (feeds, APIs, dashboards).
- Stay updated on financial market data trends, analytics platforms, and competitor offerings.
- Guide prospects on data integration, workflow setup, and use-case applicability.
4. Commercial & Business Alignment
- Support Sales in preparing commercial proposals and ROI justifications.
- Contribute to the go-to-market strategy for new data products and feature releases.
- Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities within the client base.
Desired Skills & Competencies
Techno-Commercial Expertise
- Strong grasp of fundamental financial data—balance sheets, income statements, ratios, corporate actions, etc.
- Ability to connect technical data solutions with business benefits and client ROI.
- Comfortable conducting demos, client workshops, and technical discussions.
Communication & Collaboration
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to simplify complex data concepts for business audiences.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with Product, Data, and Sales teams.
Analytical & Presentation Skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving orientation.
- Experience using BI tools, data visualisation, or APIs (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Python, or Excel for data analysis) is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in Presales / Business Consulting / Solution Engineering in financial data, analytics, SaaS, or fintech domains.
- Prior experience working with financial data platforms (like Bloomberg, or similar) preferred.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Quality of qualified leads and discovery meetings.
- Conversion ratio from discovery to proposal stage.
- Timeliness and accuracy of solution documentation and demos.
- Client feedback on presales engagement.
