Role Overview

We are looking for a passionate and experienced
Software Engineer
with strong expertise in
Qt (C++/QML)
to join our engineering team developing cutting-edge software for
unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)
systems. You will play a critical role in building user interfaces, control applications, and diagnostic tools for drones and ground control stations (GCS). Your contributions will directly impact the performance, safety, and usability of autonomous UAV systems used in defence, industrial, and commercial domains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop cross-platform desktop applications using
    Qt (C++ and QML)
  • Build intuitive and responsive UI/UX for GCS.
  • Work closely with embedded, avionics, and AI teams to design end-to-end UAV software workflows
  • Optimise application performance for high-throughput data handling and stability
  • Write clean, well-documented, and modular code with version control (Git)
  • Debug UI and backend integration issues across platforms (Windows/Linux/Android)

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in
    Qt development (C++/QML)
    for real-time or industrial applications
  • Strong understanding of
    Qt Quick
    ,
    Qt Widgets
    ,
    signals and slots
    , and
    model-view programming
  • Proficient in
    C++11 or higher
    with strong object-oriented programming skills
  • Familiarity with drone systems, robotics, or aerospace software is highly desirable
  • Good debugging and profiling skills using Qt Creator or similar IDEs

Good to Have

  • Background in UAV command & control architecture, GCS systems, or cockpit interfaces
  • Knowledge of
    QML-C++ integration
    , state machines, and UI animation frameworks
  • Experience with
    CAN, I2C, or serial communications
