About the Chemistry Teacher role

The PGT English Teacher will be responsible for teaching English to senior school students , ensuring strong conceptual understanding, language proficiency, and critical appreciation of literature. The role requires commitment to high academic standards, innovative teaching practices, and holistic student development.

Specific responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English language and literature lessons for senior secondary students.
• Prepare students for board examinations with focused strategies and practice.
• Design lesson plans, assessments, and learning materials aligned with curriculum standards.
• Evaluate student work, maintain records, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Use differentiated instruction to support diverse learning needs.
• Foster critical thinking, communication skills, and literary appreciation.
• Maintain a disciplined, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
• Participate in departmental planning, curriculum development, and school events.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and adopt innovative teaching practices.

Educational Qualifications

• Master's degree in English (MA English) from a recognized university.
• B.Ed. mandatory.

Experience

• Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience at the senior secondary level (preferred).
• Experience with IBDP is an added advantage.

Professional Skills

• Strong command of spoken and written English.
• Excellence in literature, grammar, academic writing, and communication.
• Effective classroom management and student engagement skills.
• Ability to design creative, interactive, and differentiated learning experiences.
• Comfortable with technology-enabled teaching (Google Classroom, digital tools).
