Job Summary:

The Assistant Professor in Hospital Administration will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in healthcare and hospital administration, conducting research, mentoring students, and contributing to academic and administrative responsibilities of the institution. The role also requires active involvement in curriculum development, industry collaboration, and the promotion of quality healthcare education.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Academic Duties:

  • Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in hospital administration, healthcare management, public health policy, and related subjects.
  • Develop curriculum, teaching materials, case studies, and digital content to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Supervise dissertations, projects, and internships of students.
  • Use innovative teaching methodologies including case-based, experiential, and problem-solving approaches.

Research & Publications:

  • Undertake independent and collaborative research in healthcare management, hospital operations, and policy.
  • Publish in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and academic forums.
  • Guide students in research and promote a culture of inquiry and innovation.

Industry & Institutional Contribution:

  • Build partnerships with hospitals, healthcare organizations, and government bodies for training, projects, and placements.
  • Support hospital training programs, consultancy projects, and executive development programs.
  • Participate in departmental, institutional, and accreditation-related activities.

Student Development:

  • Mentor students for academic growth, career counseling, and personality development.
  • Encourage student participation in seminars, conferences, and community outreach programs.

Qualifications & Eligibility:

  • Masters degree in Hospital Administration / Healthcare Management (MHA with healthcare focus) from a recognized university.
  • PhD in related discipline preferred (or enrollment in PhD program).
  • UGC/AICTE/PCI norms as applicable.
  • Teaching/research/industry experience in hospital/healthcare administration desirable.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong academic knowledge in healthcare management, hospital operations, health policy, quality and accreditation, HR in hospitals, and financial management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage students through innovative and practical teaching methods.
  • Research orientation with ability to publish and secure funding.
  • Commitment to academic ethics, continuous learning, and student development.
