Job Title: Modelling and Analytics Senior Analyst
Location: Bangalore
Business and Team:
Risk Management is responsible for developing and deploying the risk frameworks to allow the Group to take conscious exposures to credit, market, operational, compliance and insurance risks within a Board-approved appetite. Risk Management ensures the Group has appropriate strategies and frameworks in place to assess, manage and report on credit, market, operational, compliance and insurance risks. Risk Management has policy teams that specialize in credit, market, operational, compliance and insurance risks as well as business unit facing teams. These areas collaborate with each other and specific areas within the Group to implement the Risk Management frameworks.
Impact and Contribution:
You will be part of a skilled quantitative team, based in CBA India office in Bangalore, serving all lending businesses across the CBA Group, and will be a part of new initiatives contributing to the validation, maintenance, and enhancement of key credit risk models. You will also contribute to strategic initiatives aligned to enhancing modelling frameworks and improving the agility and efficiency of model validation activities.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Model portfolio reporting and oversight: Support the management of 700+ CBA models and AI use cases, to deliver Model risk reporting to committees and senior stakeholders; support regulatory and audit engagements.
Model risk steward accountability: Preparing model risk appetite statements for GM MRV and reporting for internal risk committees at the highest level; synthesize project documents and stakeholder feedback into a concise update to senior management.
Policy development: Generating model risk policies, standards and procedures; provide implementation and administrative support, including responding to queries; support the maintenance of a backlog containing changes to direct future policy development activities.
Policy compliance: Support assurance exercises across the organization to determine compliance to model related requirements; tracking and reporting embedment of policy in model development, validation, implementation, monitoring, retirement; synthesize findings to provide insights into where systematic gaps to compliance may be occurring.
Risk and controls: Track the health of internal controls; ensuring risk and control framework for models remains fit-for-purpose; support adjacent frameworks in aligning to model risk requirements; support operational issue tracking across the wider team.
Governance: Provide secretarial support to model committees; provide quality assurance over documentation prepared for discussion; ensure alignment of papers to committee mandate; support minute taking and action tracking.
Automation and innovation across model management: Drive continuous improvement in the management of models, through the model register, policy simplification or communication strategies; leverage AI to support governance of models; drive process improvement in reporting.
Essential Skills:
For Senior Analyst 4-6 years of model risk governance experience in other GCC
Experience in managing and reporting for model portfolios across multiple model types (Credit risk, market risk) is essential
Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication, including ability to interpret regulatory policy and internal model risk policy
Demonstrated experience in end-to-end delivery of projects, and sound communication and time management skills.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools, visualization tools (Tableau, Cognos, etc.) and preferably Atlassian products, viz. JIRA
Programming skills excel VBA/SQL advantageous.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or master's degree in computer science.
