Job Title: Design Engineer
Responsibilities

  • Design and develop battery components, including castings, forgings, busbars, and sheet metal.
  • Create complex housings using materials such as aluminum alloy, cast iron, or plastic, as well as top and EE covers using sheet metal.
  • Independently handle design responsibilities for various automotive components.
  • Conduct CAE simulation and validation to ensure product reliability.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and ensure adherence to Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
  • Understand the lifecycle management of automotive parts, providing both interim and long-term solutions for battery components.
  • Provide technical expertise in development and field failure management.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Production, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Up to 5 years of overall experience with a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably with OEM or Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Proficiency in NX modeling software with 2-4 years of experience, including modules such as Solid Modeling, Tubing/Mechanical Routing, Sheet Metal, Drafting, and CAE (Structural).
  • Experience with PLM tools, such as Teamcenter, with knowledge of Smaragd & Safira tools being preferable.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawing and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, including 2D tolerance stack up.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in CAE simulation and validation.
  • Stakeholder management and awareness of QMS requirements.
  • Ability to work independently while also being co-creative and self-standing.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Technical expertise in development and management of field failures.
