An Assistant Manager, Operations in the Steel Industry is responsible for supporting daily operations, which includes supervising staff, ensuring production targets and quality are met, managing safety and environmental compliance, and improving operational efficiency. Key duties involve planning production, monitoring costs, analyzing performance data, coordinating with other departments, and training personnel to ensure smooth and productive operations within a steel manufacturing environment. Core responsibilities

  • Production and efficiency:
  • Plan and meet shift production targets while adhering to quality standards.
  • Analyze operational delays and implement corrective actions to increase productivity and reduce cycle times.
  • Coordinate with upstream and downstream processes and support agencies.

  • Safety and environment:
  • Formulate and implement safety plans to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and legal/statutory regulations.
  • Oversee the proper implementation of the environment management plan and waste disposal systems.

  • Staff and leadership:
  • Supervise and provide technical guidance to operators, technicians, and contract manpower.
  • Assist in hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure proper manpower allocation and coordinate staff schedules.

  • Operations and administration:
  • Oversee operational costs and budgets.
  • Analyze and interpret data, preparing reports as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with internal methodologies and company standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repair work on equipment.
  • Coordinate and execute shutdown and maintenance jobs.

  • Quality and improvement:
  • Implement key performance indicators and best practices.
  • Monitor and initiate improvement activities.
  • Conduct quality checks and ensure compliance with customer requirements.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25, ₹35,000.00 per month
