Finance & Taxation Specialist (Accounts Specialist)

Core Responsibilities

  • Taxation Compliance:
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of statutory taxation (e.g., GST, TDS, Income Tax, etc.) including calculation, remittance, and timely filing of all returns.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and advise management on compliance implications.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for tax audits and internal/external assessments.
  • Regular Accounting Activities:
  • Handle the full spectrum of day-to-day accounting, including General Ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliation.
  • Process and manage payroll transactions and related compliance (e.g., PF, ESI, if applicable).
  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and comply with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS, as applicable).
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Support the annual audit process by preparing schedules, documentation, and liaising with auditors.
  • Financial Strategy: Contribute to financial planning and risk management, particularly concerning tax optimization and adherence to financial regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: MBA (Finance) or M.Com (Master of Commerce in Finance/Accounting).
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven experience in finance or accounting, with a strong focus on taxation and statutory compliance.

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Tax Expertise: In-depth, up-to-date knowledge of Indian taxation laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Accounting Principles: Strong command of core accounting principles and procedures.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Tally/SAP or other major ERP/Accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to manage financial data, spot discrepancies, and ensure accuracy.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and interacting with tax authorities and external auditors.
