Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  1. 3D Modeling

  2. Create accurate 3D models of characters, environments, props, and objects based on concept art or reference material.

  3. Optimize models for performance while maintaining visual quality.

  4. Lighting & Rendering

  5. Set up lighting within the 3D environment to achieve desired mood and realism.

  6. Render still images or animations using engines like Arnold, V-Ray, Redshift, or real-time engines like Unreal or Unity.

  7. Collaboration

  8. Work closely with concept artists, art directors, animators, and developers to ensure the visual style and technical requirements are met.

  9. Incorporate feedback and iterate on designs based on team or client input.

  10. Research & Development

  11. Stay up-to-date with industry tools, trends, and best practices.

  12. Test and implement new techniques or tools to improve workflow and quality.

Preferred candidate profile

Technical Skills

  • 3D Modeling & Sculpting: Proficient in tools like Maya, 3ds Max, SketchUp.
  • Rendering: Knowledge of render engines such as V-Ray, Enscape, Corona, or real-time engines like Unreal Engine or Unity.
  • UV Mapping & Retopology: Strong understanding of clean topology and efficient UV workflows.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Receptive to feedback and dedicated to continuous learning.

Experience

  • 13 years of industry experience preferred (junior roles); 35+ years for mid-to-senior roles.
  • A strong portfolio/demo reel showcasing high-quality 3D work: characters, environments, props, or motion depending on role.
