Quantity Surveyor and Planning Engineer

Job Summary:
The Quantity Surveyor and Planning Engineer will play a critical role in managing and controlling project costs, as well as ensuring that construction projects are completed on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in both quantity surveying and project planning, with a strong background in construction projects, cost management, and project scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
Quantity Surveyor Duties:
Cost Management:
Prepare and manage project budgets.
- Conduct cost analysis and cost control measures.
Track and report on project expenditures and financial progress.
Estimating:
Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities.
Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare estimates.
Contract Administration:
Manage contracts and negotiate terms with contractors and subcontractors.
- Prepare and review tender documents and contracts.
Evaluate and process variations, claims, and payments.
Risk Management:
Identify and assess project risks.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies.
Planning Engineer Duties:
Project Planning:
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using project management software.
Define project scope, milestones, and deliverables.
Scheduling:
Monitor project timelines and ensure adherence to schedules.
Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Resource Management:
Allocate and manage project resources effectively.
Forecast project resource needs and ensure availability.
Progress Reporting:
Prepare and present project progress reports to stakeholders.
Identify and communicate any potential delays or issues.
Project Coordination:
Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among project team members.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Experience:
5-7 years of experience in quantity surveying and project planning roles.
Proven experience in cost estimation, budget management, and project scheduling.
Skills:
Proficient in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification Dip / BE civil is highly desirable.
- Experience in handling works related high rise residential projects is advantageous.
- Good hands on Experience in Auto cadd, MS Projects and MS office is must
