Job Summary:

The Quantity Surveyor and Planning Engineer will play a critical role in managing and controlling project costs, as well as ensuring that construction projects are completed on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in both quantity surveying and project planning, with a strong background in construction projects, cost management, and project scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

Quantity Surveyor Duties:

  1. Cost Management:

  2. Prepare and manage project budgets.

  3. Conduct cost analysis and cost control measures.
  4. Track and report on project expenditures and financial progress.

  5. Estimating:

  6. Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities.

  7. Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare estimates.

  8. Contract Administration:

  9. Manage contracts and negotiate terms with contractors and subcontractors.

  10. Prepare and review tender documents and contracts.
  11. Evaluate and process variations, claims, and payments.

  12. Risk Management:

  13. Identify and assess project risks.

  14. Implement risk mitigation strategies.

Planning Engineer Duties:

  1. Project Planning:

  2. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using project management software.

  3. Define project scope, milestones, and deliverables.

  4. Scheduling:

  5. Monitor project timelines and ensure adherence to schedules.

  6. Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely completion of tasks.

  7. Resource Management:

  8. Allocate and manage project resources effectively.

  9. Forecast project resource needs and ensure availability.

  10. Progress Reporting:

  11. Prepare and present project progress reports to stakeholders.

  12. Identify and communicate any potential delays or issues.

  13. Project Coordination:

  14. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.

  15. Facilitate communication and collaboration among project team members.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

  • Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in quantity surveying and project planning roles.

  • Proven experience in cost estimation, budget management, and project scheduling.

  • Skills:

  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certification Dip / BE civil is highly desirable.
  • Experience in handling works related high rise residential projects is advantageous.
  • Good hands on Experience in Auto cadd, MS Projects and MS office is must
