Teacher French

Purpose of Role 

The French Teacher will be responsible for developing students' proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in French, while fostering an appreciation for French culture. The role involves designing engaging, age-appropriate lessons, preparing students for assessments, and encouraging confidence and enjoyment in using the language in both academic and everyday contexts.

Teacher – French- Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging French lessons aligned with curriculum objectives.
  • Develop students' reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in French.
  • Introduce aspects of French culture, traditions, and global context.
  • Assess and monitor student progress through assignments, tests, and class participation.
  • Encourage active participation, confidence, and enjoyment in using the French language.
  • Provide additional support to students who need help in mastering concepts.
  • Integrate technology and interactive tools to enhance language learning.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Skills: Strong command over the French language (reading, writing, speaking, listening), effective classroom management, student engagement, communication, and ability to use technology for teaching.
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's or master's degree in French or related field; B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience of 2 to 3 yrs in teaching French to middle school students (Grades 6–8) is preferred, with exposure to curriculum design, assessments, and student-centred learning methodologies.
