Job Purpose: The Mine Planning Executive for Open Cast mining is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of effective mine plans to optimize resource extraction and operational efficiency. This role involves assisting in the preparation of detailed mine designs, scheduling, and budgeting for open cast mining projects. The Mine Planning Executive collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure the alignment of mine plans with business objectives, regulatory compliance, and safety standards.

The Mine Planning Incharge - Open Cast Coal and Metals is responsible for developing and implementing detailed mine plans and operational schedules for open cast coal and metal mining projects. This role focuses on short and medium-term planning, optimizing resource extraction, managing operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety standards. The incumbent works closely with various departments to facilitate efficient, cost-effective mining operations and supports the introduction of new technologies to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

Project Planning and Feasibility Analysis

Assist in preparing comprehensive mine plans that optimize resource extraction for coal and metal mining projects.

Support in the development of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for open-cast mining blocks, ensuring thorough documentation and alignment with project goals.

Contribute to the preparation of techno-economic feasibility studies required by financial institutions and regulatory bodies.

Participate in the preparation of Progressive and Final Mine Closure Plans for coal and metal mining blocks.

Operational Planning and Scheduling

Assist in developing optimized pit shells based on cost and revenue parameters to enhance operational efficiency.

Contribute to the preparation of final pit layouts and mine development sequences for long-term planning.

Support the preparation of short and mid-term operational plans for active and upcoming mining projects.

Collaborate in the creation of annual and quarterly operational plans, ensuring they are feasible and aligned with available land and operational constraints.

Equipment Planning and Utilization

Assist in the selection of appropriate mining equipment, considering project requirements and site-specific conditions.

Support the planning and scheduling of mining equipment usage to ensure optimal utilization and efficiency in operations.

Participate in the assessment of manpower requirements for mining operations, including statutory manpower needs.

Cost Estimation and Financial Collaboration

Assist in the estimation of project capital expenditure (Capex) and operating expenditure (Opex).

Contribute to the optimization of project Capex and Opex to maximize revenue and enhance returns.

Collaborate with departments such as ERC, PRMC, Environment, Finance, TCD, IT, and Technology for the preparation of financial models.

Technical Support and Stakeholder Collaboration

Provide technical support to internal departments, including ERC, PRMC, Environment, Finance, and TCD.

Assist in collaborating with the Business Development team to provide techno-economic inputs for coal and metal block bidding.

Support site teams to ensure the accurate execution of mining plans and adherence to best practices.

Engage with external consultants and technical teams to aid in the implementation of digital technology initiatives.
