Middleware Engineer

Role Overview:
The Middleware Engineer will be responsible for installing, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting middleware platforms and integration layers. This includes supporting messaging systems, application servers, APIs, and cloud-native integration tools that enable data and service exchange across enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Middleware Configuration & Management
- Install, configure, and maintain middleware platforms such as WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat, Oracle WebLogic, Kafka, or RabbitMQ
- Manage middleware environments across development, staging, and production
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of middleware components
Integration & Deployment
- Design and support integrations between enterprise applications, services, and APIs
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot middleware-based services
- Automate deployment and configuration processes using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or CI/CD pipelines
Monitoring & Troubleshooting
- Monitor performance and health of middleware systems using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, AppDynamics, or Splunk
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to middleware, integration, and service communication
- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with containerized middleware deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and managed middleware services
- Understanding of enterprise service bus (ESB) or microservices architecture
- Middleware certifications (e.g., IBM Certified Admin, Red Hat JBoss Certification, MuleSoft Certified)
- Exposure to DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, Ansible)
