Your Role at Appcrafters

You'll be accountable for designing, building, and delivering high-quality software that meets both functional and non-functional requirements. You'll work across architecture, solution design, implementation, performance, security, cost efficiency, and operational readiness. You'll also act as a technical backbone for the team—someone others can rely on for clarity, guidance, and high standards.

Type of Employment

• Full-Time, Remote
• Location: Open to candidates across India; complete WFH available.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery — architecture, planning, implementation, testing (≥80% coverage), documentation, and post-release support.
• Design scalable, secure architectures and justify trade-offs across performance, cost, risk, and operational complexity.
• Write high-quality, maintainable code while enforcing coding standards through rigorous reviews and mentoring other developers.
• Embed security, performance, and reliability into every phase of the development lifecycle, improving the overall security posture.
• Identify and manage technical debt, drive engineering improvements, and contribute to cross-team technical discussions.
• Collaborate with product, QA, and operations, challenging unclear requirements and ensuring solutions align with product and operational needs.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience (backend or full-stack).
• Proven experience designing architectures, APIs, and scalable components (minimum 2 years).
• Demonstrated ability to own delivery end-to-end—requirements, design, implementation, testing, operations.
• Experience leading technical discussions, reviewing code, and guiding junior engineers.
• Exposure to cloud services, observability tooling, and containerization (Docker, AWS, etc.).
• Comfortable with agile delivery, backlog refinement, sprint ceremonies, and cross-team collaboration.

Skills & Tools

• Strong knowledge of modern development practices and engineering standards.
• Solid understanding of performance optimization, cost efficiency, and system reliability.
• Familiarity with DevOps concepts: CI/CD, environment management, automated testing.
• Proficient with GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Slack, and modern development workflows.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with cloud-native deployments (AWS, GCP, Vercel, etc.).
• Experience improving observability—logs, metrics, tracing.
• Contributions to engineering standards or process improvements.
• Prior experience mentoring teams or influencing cross-team architecture.
