We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Vulnerability Management Engineer I to join our cybersecurity team. In this entry-level role, you will support the identification, assessment, and remediation of security vulnerabilities across our systems, networks, and applications. This position is ideal for candidates with a foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles and a strong desire to grow in the field of vulnerability management.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the scanning and monitoring of infrastructure, systems, and applications for vulnerabilities using industry-standard tools (e.g., Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, etc.).
Support the analysis and triaging of vulnerabilities, helping prioritize remediation based on risk, business impact, and exploitability.
Collaborate with system administrators, developers, and IT teams to coordinate vulnerability remediation efforts.
Document findings, track resolution progress, and maintain accurate vulnerability records.
Assist in developing and updating metrics and reports related to the vulnerability management program.
Help ensure compliance with internal security policies and industry frameworks (e.g., CIS, NIST, ISO
Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Foundational knowledge of networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and security fundamentals.
Exposure to or interest in vulnerability scanning tools and techniques.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Eagerness to learn and grow in the cybersecurity domain.
