Responsibilities

  • Production Management:
  • Oversee and optimize all aspects of food production, from scheduling and staffing to managing inventory to meet production goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve process efficiency, reduce waste, and cut costs.
  • Monitor production performance and prepare reports for senior management, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Quality and Safety Assurance:
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety and quality standards, including regulations like HACCP, GMP, and FSSAI.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of production facilities and products to maintain compliance.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, train, mentor, and develop production staff to build a high-performing team.
  • Supervise production personnel to ensure they are following all procedures and meeting productivity goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Liaise with other departments like procurement, quality assurance, and logistics to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot production issues and streamline operations.
  • Budget and Resource Management:
  • Manage the production budget, including food procurement and labor costs.
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet production demands and goals.

Qualifications and skills

  • Proven experience in food production, manufacturing, or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, quality control systems (e.g., HACCP, GMP), and production processes.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and team-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve production issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Job qualifications: Skills and experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field is often required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 -7 years of experience in food production management or a similar senior role is typically necessary.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team.
  • Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of food production processes, food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP), and quality management systems.
  • Analytical skills: Demonstrated capability in process optimization, data analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Software proficiency: Experience with relevant management software (e.g., ERP, SAP, POS systems) is beneficial.
  • Interpersonal skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills are essential for coordinating with staff and other departments.
