The Jewellery Laser Welding Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining precision laser welding equipment used in the repair, assembly, and finishing of jewellery pieces. The operator ensures high-quality welds with minimal distortion, following production standards, design specifications, and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate laser welding machines to weld, join, or repair gold and other precious metal jewellery components.
  • Set up, calibrate, and adjust laser parameters (power, focus, pulse, etc.) for different metals and joint types.
  • Read and interpret design drawings, technical instructions, or repair orders.
  • Inspect workpieces before and after welding to ensure accuracy, finish quality, and adherence to standards.
  • Perform minor repairs or adjustments to the machine and report major maintenance needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation and equipment.
  • Record daily production data, materials used, and job details.
  • Work closely with designers, setters, and polishers to ensure seamless workflow.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including eye protection and ventilation requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience operating laser welding machines (preferably in the jewellery or precision metal industry).
  • Training or certification in laser welding or jewellery manufacturing is an advantage.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work with small components under a microscope or magnifier.
  • Steady hands and good eyesight for precision work.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

Typical Work Environment:

  • Workshop or jewellery manufacturing unit.
  • Exposure to bright laser light (with safety gear) and fine metal dust.
  • Controlled environment for precision operations.
