Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our design and development team. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and detailing mechanical systems for packaging automation machines and special-purpose machinery (SPMs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical components and assemblies using Solid Edge / SolidWorks / AutoCAD.
  • Conceptualize and design custom packaging automation systems and SPMs.
  • Apply knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and material selection in design.
  • Prepare and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) in SAP.
  • Coordinate with production, purchase, and quality teams to ensure design intent is achieved.
  • Ensure designs meet performance, safety, and manufacturability standards.
  • Provide design support during installation, testing, and commissioning.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Design Engineering.
  • 4 to 8 years of experience in packaging machine design / automation / machine tool industry.
  • Proficient in Solid Edge (mandatory); experience with SolidWorks / AutoCAD preferred.
  • Strong understanding of machine design principles, mechanisms, and motion systems.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical logic control and PLC interface is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • Should be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and result-driven.
  • Must be able to manage multiple design projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites and work at installations when required.
  • Familiarity with SAP for documentation and BOM generation.
