Technical Program Manager, Search AI Answers

Role Overview: As a Technical Program Manager at Google, your primary responsibility will be to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects related to AI, specifically focusing on the AI Answers feature of Google Search. You will collaborate with teams of engineers and product managers to deliver on a roadmap aimed at revolutionizing the Google Search experience with the latest Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) model capabilities. Key Responsibilities: - Manage multiple AI projects undertaken by the engineers, including defining, scoping, and overseeing projects for timely delivery and adherence to scope. - Build detailed project plans, track progress, manage risks, and implement mitigation strategies effectively. - Collaborate with other teams working on AI projects to ensure synergy through coordinated timelines, dependencies, and deliverables. - Identify and resolve blockers, escalate issues when necessary, and communicate project status and updates to stakeholders regularly. - Facilitate meetings and reviews to drive decision-making and alignment across the teams. - Introduce standard procedures for reproducibility, data/model versioning, experimentation tracking, and agile methodology in the AI space to enhance development velocity and efficiency. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. - 8 years of experience in Technical Program Management. - Ability to work effectively with technical engineering teams across multiple organizations. - Strategic thinking and persuasive communication skills at all levels. - Willingness to learn new technologies.
