About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Naval Architect – Structural to join our team at Optio Marine Pvt Ltd, Chennai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading structural design activities, ensuring compliance with classification society rules and international standards, and guiding a team of design engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead structural design and analysis for marine vessels and offshore structures.
Prepare structural drawings, calculations, and reports.
Ensure compliance with relevant class, statutory, and safety regulations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (piping, hull, outfitting, etc.).
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Conduct structural integrity assessments, stability analysis, and weight calculations.
Coordinate with clients, shipyards, and classification societies.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture / Ocean Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in marine structural design.
Strong knowledge of ship structural design standards, class rules, and regulations.
Proficiency in structural analysis tools and 3D design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Rhino, ShipConstructor, etc.).
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
