About us:

We are building a modern, scalable, end-to-end automated on-premises data platform designed to handle complex data workflows, including data ingestion, ETL processes, physics-based calculations and machine learning predictions. Our platform integrates with multiple data sources, edge devices, and storage systems. We are using core Python as programming language, Docker as deployment technology and Dagster as orchestrator. We are a small cross-functional team sharing a wide range of tasks from database operations to data science. We are looking for a data platform developer with expert Python and Docker knowledge who would help to develop, maintain, and optimize our platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Python modules that perform data transformations, checks, and analytics, fetch data from data sources and integrate with REST APIs.

  • Write and maintain data pipelines (e.g., ETL pipelines) using core Python and Dagster for orchestration

  • Develop and maintain the platform infrastructure (on-premises) using Docker

  • Implement CI/CD workflows of the platform using Docker and git

  • Maintain metadata, data lineage, ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with governance and security policies

  • Develop as part one team with data scientists, analysts, and software developers

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent skills in core Python

  • Core python data structures like lists, dictionaries, generators and libraries like functools, itertools

  • Vectorized data processing libraries including pandas and numpy
  • Database access through python sqlalchemy, psycopg2
  • Packaging, version control with libraries like pipenv, poetry or equivalent
  • Testing libraries like pytest, unit test

  • RESTful API libraries: requests, FastAPI, flask

  • Excellent skills in SQL

  • Data Definition, modeling and manipulation

  • SQL Objects and Joins Relationships, Subqueries and CTEs
  • Aggregation & Grouping
  • Window Functions

  • Performance Tuning & Query Optimization

  • Familiarity with Docker and challenges of on-premises deployment (e.g., network latency, storage constraints, resource management)

  • Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices for data workflows

  • Experience with batch/stream data processing and ETL operations

  • Strong plus: Hands-on experience with Dagster or similar data orchestration tools e.g., Airflow, Prefect, Luigi, Databricks

  • Strong plus: Understanding of data governance, access control, and data cataloging

Years of Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in Python and SQL

  • Strong plus: 1-2 years of experience with data platforms, orchestration, and big data management
