Role & responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement API proxies on Apigee X.
  • Configure API products, developers, and apps in the Apigee platform.
  • Implement policies for security (OAuth, JWT, API key verification), traffic management, mediation, and transformation.
  • Integrate Apigee X with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services like Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Endpoints.
  • Design and implement API Gateway architecture ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Work closely with backend teams to expose microservices through APIs.
  • Manage API versioning, documentation, and lifecycle through developer portals.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for API deployments using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Cloud Build.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot API performance, latency, and errors using Apigee Analytics and Cloud Logging.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices for API governance, security, and compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience with Apigee (Edge or X).
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful API design principles and Open API/Swagger specifications.
  • Experience in JavaScript, , Python, or Java for custom policy development.
  • Expertise in OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, and other API authentication mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with GCP services, including IAM, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Storage.
  • Experience with CI/CD, Git, and DevOps pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of API security, scalability, and monitoring.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
