Description
  • The successful candidate will be a dynamic, self-motivated individual who will take on a key role in project work, focused on timely delivery and technical excellence.
  • Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD software (latest versions). Including AutoCAD functions, such as X-Refs, Lisp, Blocks, Layers, Model Space & Paper Space, Viewports, Pen Setting files and all AutoCAD utilities. Should also be familiar with other Autodesk software such as Reference Manager. Should have understanding of ACAD customization and be able to load WSP Standard Menus, settings and make sure all PCs are set-up correctly & uniformly.
  • Experienced in the use of Bently/MicroStation.
Responsibilities
  • Creation and editing of drawings & models in compliance with WSP BIM Standards and detailing practices.
  • Produce accurate BIM/Revit, Bently/MicroStation and AutoCAD 2D drawings and 3D models to agreed deadlines.
  • Excellent working knowledge of fire protection and detection and alarm design, modelling, and service coordination.
  • Completion of tasks received from Engineers.
  • Should also be familiar with other Autodesk software such as AutoCAD and Navisworks.
  • Ensure drawings are issued and filed in an appropriate manner to ZA standards.
  • Develop expertise and stay abreast of developments in relevant technical field.
  • Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies.
  • Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to line manager.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Attend team and project meetings as required to ZA timing.
  • Support the company s approach to sustainability.
  • Identify improvements (where possible) to enhance WSP ZA service to clients.
  • Lead by example and ensure QMS compliance across team.
  • Complete accurate timesheets by set deadline.
  • Attend in house or external training for new technologies passing new skills to others within the team.
Qualifications
  • Diploma � Mechanical/ Electrical engineering
  • Experienced in the use of Bently/MicroStation.
  • The role requires involvement in numerous projects from an early stage.
  • The ability to create and modify fire protection drawings, fire detection and alarm/models based on NFPA, BS and local standards for each stage of a project is a pre-requisite and training and guidance will be provided where necessary.
  • Excellent command of written and verbal English
