Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Design & Engineering Manager (Solar) to lead the complete design and engineering lifecycle of solar PV projectsfrom concept to commissioning. The role involves managing multidisciplinary design teams and ensuring technical excellence, cost efficiency, and innovation across utility-scale, rooftop, and hybrid solar projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor design teams across electrical, civil, and structural disciplines.
  • Oversee all design deliverableslayouts, SLDs, PVsyst reports, string sizing, earthing layouts, and BOQs.
  • Ensure designs meet technical, regulatory, and client requirements.
  • Review and approve vendor drawings, technical specs, and tender documents.
  • Coordinate with BD, procurement, execution, and O&M teams for design optimization.
  • Implement standardization and automation to enhance design efficiency.
  • Stay updated with latest technologies in solar, inverter, and ESS systems.
  • Conduct technical due diligence and present design improvements to leadership.

Qualifications:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (Masters preferred).
  • Minimum 8 years experience in solar PV design, including 45 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of PV system design, codes (IEC/IS), and standards.

Key Skills:

  • Technical Tools: PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, STAAD, ETAP.
  • Design Expertise: Solar PV layouts, electrical design, structural design, hybrid & BESS integration.
  • Project Management: Multitasking, scheduling, coordination, and timely delivery.
  • Leadership: Team management, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Analytical Skills: Design optimization, cost-benefit analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal skills for stakeholder interaction.
  • Innovation: Knowledge of emerging solar and storage technologies.
