Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Assistant Professor in Statistics to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong subject expertise, a passion for teaching, and the ability to mentor students. The role includes delivering undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses, conducting research, and contributing to academic development activities within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Statistics and related subjects.
  • Develop curriculum, lesson plans, assignments, and assessments.
  • Guide and mentor students in academic and research activities.
  • Engage in scholarly research, publications, and departmental initiatives.
  • Participate in academic committees, workshops, seminars, and institutional development programs.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of current trends and advancements in the field of Statistics.
  • Contribute to accreditation and quality assurance processes as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Mathematics, M.Sc. Statistics, or a closely related field from a recognized university.
  • Strong theoretical and applied understanding of Statistics.
  • Excellent communication and instructional skills.
  • Ability to integrate technology and modern pedagogical methods in the classroom.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NET/SET qualification (if applicable).
  • Prior teaching or research experience in a higher education institution.
  • Publications in reputable journals.
  • Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SPSS, SAS, MATLAB).
