About the job

We are looking for a self-driven Research Scientist with strong expertise in RFL, rubber chemistry, and textile–rubber adhesion. This is a hands-on R&D role that involves formulation work, lab experimentation, and developing adhesive solutions for bonding textile cords to rubber.

The ideal candidate is curious, independent, and able to learn and solve problems without constant guidance. You will also play a key role in setting up our new laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize RFL dips, VP/SBR latex systems, and other rubber–textile adhesive formulations.
  • Prepare chemical recipes, conduct lab trials, and maintain experiment logs.
  • Work with mould press, curing equipment, Instron/UTM, and adhesion testing methods.
  • Perform peel strength, pull-out tests, and analyze bonding performance.
  • Travel to our main Madurai plant multiple times a month to support trials and scale-up.
  • Liaise with subject matter experts and support production teams on adhesion-related challenges.
  • Assist in establishing and organizing the new R&D lab (equipment, SOPs, workflow).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • M.Sc / M.Tech / PhD in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Rubber Technology, or related fields.
  • 1–6 years of experience in RFL, rubber adhesives, latex chemistry, or textile–rubber bonding.
  • Strong hands-on lab skills and familiarity with rubber curing and adhesion testing.
  • Ability to self-learn, troubleshoot independently, and drive projects with minimal supervision.
  • Strong curiosity, experimental mindset, and proactive attitude.
