Job Description – Senior Production Support (SPS)

Position Overview

Join the Kotak Institutional Desk's Production Support team as a Senior Production Support Analyst. You will provide Level 2 support for business-critical trading applications, ensuring seamless operations in a high-pressure, capital markets environment. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to coordinate with both internal teams and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities


• Monitor and support all critical trading systems and processes to ensure uninterrupted business operations.


• Provide L2 production support, including incident troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and permanent resolution in Linux-based environments.


• Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve application and infrastructure issues efficiently.


• Apply capital markets knowledge to assess business impact and prioritize incident resolution.


• Maintain accurate incident and problem records, following ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, and Change Management).


• Work closely with business users and application teams to understand requirements and deliver timely support.


• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME), owning issues end-to-end, including follow-ups, recurrence prevention, and proactive monitoring of trading environments.


• Remain calm and professional under pressure, especially during critical incidents or market hours.

Must-Have Skills & Qualifications


• 10+ years of experience in Production/Application Support within the Capital Markets domain.


• Hands-on expertise with FIX protocol (message parsing, session management, troubleshooting connectivity).

o Strong working knowledge of Linux/Unix systems (command-line, log analysis, shell scripting, Python, Java).

o Experience supporting front-office trading desks, with a deep understanding of trader workflows and urgency in issue resolution.

o Experience with Omnesys OMS (front-end, back-end, functional expertise) and industry-standard algorithmic trading systems (e.g., Greeksoft, Omnesys Arb Strategies, NEST GATE).

o Experience in change/release management of third-party trading applications.

o Experience coordinating with vendors and auditors/exchanges for CTCL/Algo approvals and system audits.

o Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills under pressure.

o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

o Working knowledge of the ITIL framework (Incident, Change, Problem Management).
