Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze existing SQL queries for performance bottlenecks.
  • Relocate and optimize database indexes to improve query performance.
  • Utilize performance monitoring tools to track system efficiency.
  • Collaborate with developers to understand application requirements.
  • Implement query rewriting techniques for better optimization.
  • Conduct performance tuning and testing on a regular basis.
  • Review and refine database schema design for greater efficiency.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of optimization efforts and outcomes.
  • Educate team members on best practices for writing efficient SQL queries.
  • Support data mining and analysis for performance insights.
  • Develop and execute plans for migration and upgrades of database systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis for performance issues.
  • Coordinate with IT teams for backup and recovery solutions.

  • Stay updated with new SQL features and optimization strategies.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience in SQL query writing and optimization.
  • At least 4 years of experience in database management.
  • Familiarity with database design and architecture.
  • Strong understanding of indexing and normalization techniques.
  • Experience with performance monitoring and tuning tools.
  • Knowledge of stored procedures and triggers.
  • Ability to analyze execution plans and identify inefficiencies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with large datasets and complex queries.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with database platforms such as SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to document processes and results.
  • Certifications related to database management are preferred.
