Location: Dhekiajuli

Department: Procurement / Merchandising

Reports To: Head of Operations / Director – Buying & Merchandising

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and fashion-forward Procurement/Buying Manager to oversee the sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of apparel and fashion products. The ideal candidate will have strong vendor management and negotiation skills, a keen eye for trends, and an updated understanding of global fashion markets and consumer preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Management & Negotiation
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers and manufacturers (local and national).
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve best value and quality.
  • Build long-term relationships with key vendors to ensure reliable supply chains.
  • Buying & Product Development
  • Collaborate with the design and merchandising teams to source new collections aligned with seasonal trends and brand identity.
  • Stay updated with fashion trends, colors, fabrics, and silhouettes across global and domestic markets.
  • Coordinate with design and production teams for sample approvals, quality standards, and production timelines.
  • Procurement & Cost Management
  • Monitor market trends to forecast demand and ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Control budgets, analyze cost breakdowns, and ensure cost efficiency without compromising on quality.
  • Track procurement KPIs (lead times, cost savings, supplier performance).
  • Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure all products meet the brand's quality, sustainability, and compliance standards.
  • Conduct supplier audits and maintain documentation related to ethical sourcing and certifications.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with merchandising, marketing, and logistics teams for timely product launches and replenishments.
  • Provide insights on consumer preferences, competitor activity, and fashion movement.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in procurement/buying for apparel or fashion brands.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage vendor relations and source from multiple geographies (India, Bangladesh, China, etc.).
  • Excellent understanding of fashion trends, fabrics, trims, and production processes.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, ERP systems, and data analysis tools.
  • Passion for fashion and awareness of leading global fashion brands and market trends.
