We are looking for an experienced Senior Mobile Backend Developer to design, build, and optimize backend systems that support our large-scale mobile applications. This role requires deep knowledge of 3-tier architecture, API development, and cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS). You will develop highly scalable, load-balanced systems. Starting as 3 month contract, with a potential to extend or make it permanent.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop backend systems using a 3-tier architecture (Presentation → API/Application Layer → Data Layer).
  • Build and maintain RESTful or GraphQL APIs for mobile applications.
  • Architect and deploy cloud-based backend services using AWS (EC2, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, API Gateway, VPC).
  • Manage and optimize managed databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL via RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB).
  • Utilize object storage (S3) and distributed caching (Redis/Memcached via ElastiCache).
  • Implement load-balanced architectures to support high traffic and large-scale user bases.
  • Develop asynchronous job systems and event-driven workflows (SNS/SQS, Kafka, or similar).
  • Ensure secure API development, encryption, IAM access control, and OWASP best practices.
  • Maintain automated backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Awareness on CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
  • Monitor and optimize performance using CloudWatch, X-Ray, and related tools.

Required Qualifications

3+ years of backend development experience in high-scale environments.

Strong proficiency in server-side languages , Go, Python, Java, etc.).

In-depth understanding of 3-tier architecture, distributed systems, and cloud-native design.

Hands-on experience with:

  • API servers and microservices
  • Managed databases (RDS/Aurora)
  • NoSQL databases (DynamoDB/Redis)
  • Object storage (S3)
  • Load balancers (ALB/ELB)
  • Experience with caching strategies for high-performance systems.
  • Strong understanding of Docker, containers, autoscaling, and cloud networking.
  • Expertise in authentication: OAuth2, JWT, Cognito, or similar.
  • Ability to troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and optimize system latency.
