JOB TITLE: PLANT HEAD (MECHANICAL)- STEEL FABRICATION PLANT

POSITION OVERVIEW

MG Contractors Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a Plant Head to lead our Heavy Steel Fabrication Unit, dedicated to the supply and fabrication of steel structures for BHEL/ RDSO and other high-value infrastructure clients. This is a strategic leadership role requiring a seasoned professional with deep expertise in heavy steel fabrication, team management, operational excellence, and client coordination.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end functioning of a large-scale production facility with a fabrication capacity of 3000 MT/month, covering fabrication, assembly, painting, billing, and documentation for a diverse range of heavy steel structures.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• B.E. / B. Tech Mechanical Engineering.
• Must be having years experience in steel detailing & fabrication drawings (with 10-12 years in a managerial role).
• Must be capable to handle Heavy Steel Fabrication Unit, dedicated to the supply and fabrication of steel structures for BHEL/ RDSO and other high-value infrastructure clients.
• Must be having deep expertise in heavy steel fabrication, team management, operational excellence, and client coordination

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and manage the entire operations of the heavy steel fabrication unit.

• Oversee fabrication, welding, assembly, painting, and dispatch activities to ensure timely and quality-controlled output.
• Develop and implement production plans to meet monthly tonnage targets (3000 MT).
  • Ensure strict compliance with quality assurance protocols and safety standards.
• Review and manage project documentation in coordination with design consultants and technical experts.
• Liaison with BHEL/RDSO and other client organizations for approvals, inspections, and technical discussions.
• Supervise procurement planning for raw materials and consumables.
• Manage preventive and corrective plant maintenance activities.
• Drive performance improvements and cost optimization initiatives across the plant.
• Build and mentor a strong team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
