The Senior Analyst is responsible for driving data-based decision-making by converting complex business, operational, or financial data into actionable insights. The role requires advanced analytical skills, strong technical capability in Excel and SQL, stakeholder management, and the ability to work independently while guiding junior analysts.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Analysis & Insights

  • Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and business drivers.
  • Build analytical models, frameworks, and business cases using Excel and SQL.
  • Prepare insight-driven dashboards, reports, and visualizations.

2. Business Problem Solving

  • Translate business challenges into analytical problem statements.
  • Deliver clear, actionable recommendations backed by data.

3. Reporting & Visualization

  • Develop automated dashboards using tools like Power BI/Tableau.
  • Convert SQL outputs into intuitive visualizations and reports.
  • Maintain KPI frameworks and standard operating reports.

4. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with product, operations, finance, and leadership teams.
  • Lead discussions, present insights, and drive decision-making.

5. Quality & Governance

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Document SQL logic, data definitions, and analytical steps.

6. Mentoring & Leadership

  • Guide junior analysts on analytical and technical best practices.
  • Review outputs for quality and reliability.

Technical Capabilities

Excel (Advanced)

  • Complex formulas (INDEX-MATCH, XLOOKUP, ARRAY formulas)
  • Pivot Tables, Power Query, Power Pivot
  • Scenario modelling, what-if analysis, financial/operational models

SQL (Proficient to Advanced)

  • Writing complex queries with joins, CTEs, window functions
  • Data extraction, transformation, and optimization
  • Query performance tuning and troubleshooting
  • Working with relational databases (MySQL, SQL Server, Postgres, etc.)
  • Ability to create views, stored procedures, and reusable scripts
