Job Summary:

The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in a power plant facility. This role ensures the safe and reliable operation of power generation and distribution systems while adhering to safety, environmental, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components including motors, transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, lighting systems, wiring, and control systems.
  • Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and perform root cause analysis on system failures.
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
  • Operate and maintain electrical testing instruments (e.g., multimeters, insulation testers, clamp meters, thermal cameras).
  • Ensure compliance with national and local electrical codes and plant safety regulations.
  • Support plant shutdowns, start-ups, and emergency repairs as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs and service reports.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new electrical systems or equipment.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and instrumentation teams for integrated system operations.
