Role: Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer

Minimum 5 years experience working in data engineering preferably in Azure Data Factory or Synapse Analytics using data pipelines, spark notebooks, data flows. Good understanding in SQL and Pyspark and Python scripting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading data from various sources using Microsoft Fabric tools such as Data Pipelines, Spark Notebooks, and Python.
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes, ensuring data is cleansed, transformed, and loaded efficiently into target data warehouses or data marts tailored to specific business use cases.
• Architect and build target data models (data warehouse, data marts, or lake houses) based on business requirements, following modern data architecture patterns like the Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers).
• Implement business logic, filters, incremental data loads, and archival strategies to support business needs and data retention policies.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance by applying best practices and utilizing data quality frameworks within Microsoft Fabric.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver high-quality data products.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines and warehouse performance, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Deploy code and data pipelines using CI/CD practices and integrate with source control systems such as GitHub or Azure DevOps for code versioning and structured deployment.
• Document processes, provide technical guidance to team members, and participate in code reviews to ensure maintainability and adherence to standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience in data engineering with Microsoft Fabric, including Data Pipelines, Spark Notebooks, Warehouses, and Lakehouse.
• Proficiency in Spark SQL, Python, and data engineering tools within the Fabric ecosystem.
• Experience designing and implementing data warehouses, data marts, or lake houses, with a strong understanding of ETL/ELT best practices.
• Hands-on experience with source control (GitHub, Azure DevOps) and CI/CD pipeline deployment for data solutions.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with performance optimization in platforms like Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Desirable

• Knowledge of Microsoft Purview or similar data governance tool.
• Certification such as DP-600 (Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate) or equivalent.
