Senior Consultant-SRE DevOps

Position Summary

Level: Senior Consultant or equivalent

As an experienced Consultant at Deloitte Consulting, you will be responsible for individually delivering high quality work products within due timelines. Need-basis you will be mentoring and/or directing junior team members/liaising with onsite/offshore teams to understand the functional requirements.

Work youll do:

Apply industry knowledge to requirements gathering and analysis, ensuring alignment with sector needs. Demonstrate expertise across the entire software development lifecycle, from design and coding to deployment and defect resolution, collaborating with stakeholders for effective delivery. Conduct peer and team reviews to maintain quality standards. Actively engage in Agile practices, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and effort estimation. Build and share business process knowledge, supporting project knowledge management and team training. Proactively recommend process improvements, track efficiency gains, and contribute to automation and innovation, all aimed at enhancing project outcomes and delivering greater value to clients.

Qualifications

Must Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:

• Minimum of 6+ years of experience in SRE, Cloud platforms, or DevOps with large-scale microservices in production environments.
• Experience in designing the SRE architecture as per the business use case taking into consideration high availability, DR environment, different deployment strategies, auto-scaling, load/traffic management, etc.
• Hands-on experience with scaling distributed systems in public, private, or hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience with automated configuration tools like Ansible and Terraform
• Good handson in managing deploying Cloud Services, Monitoring, Alerting, and Handling Escalations
• Experience with Container Orchestration including Kubernetes, Helm Charts, and Docker
• Strong understanding of SRE principles, including error budgets, SLOs, and SLAs.
• Proficiency in incident, change, and problem management processes.
• Detect and resolve application-level incidents (e.g., crashes, slow response times).
• Collaborate with development teams to address defects and improve code quality.
• Automate repetitive tasks (toil) related to application operations.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for application failures.
• Implement and test new releases to ensure stability and reliability.
• Enhance customer experience by minimizing downtime and improving app responsiveness.
• Ensuring application changes do not introduce reliability risks.
• Leading and Managing day-to-day operations of business applications and platforms.
• Experience with streaming data infrastructure services, such as Kafka and Spark.
• Expertise in building and operating large-scale observability platforms for monitoring and logging (e.g., ELK, Prometheus).
• Proficiency in one of the programming languages such as Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby.

Good to Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:

Experience designing and building reliable systems capable of handling high throughput and low latency

Experience with observability and monitoring systems such as Dyantrace, Kibana, Datadog, etc.

Familiarity with working in rapid growth environments

Experience in Ansible, Terraform, YAML/Shell scripting

Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or other cloud environment

Experience designing and building reliable systems

Experience working in a highly regulated environment

Education:

• BE/B.Tech/M.C.A./M.Sc (CS) degree or equivalent from accredited university
