About the Role:

The Staff R&D Mechanical Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design and development of innovative mechanical systems and components that meet the needs of our clients and enhance our product offerings. This position requires a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, as well as the ability to apply them to real-world challenges. The engineer will lead projects from concept through to production, ensuring that all designs are efficient, cost-effective, and meet regulatory standards. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and product managers, will be essential to ensure that all aspects of the product are integrated seamlessly. Ultimately, the goal of this role is to drive technological advancements and improve product performance, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and development.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with project management and leading engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in a specific industry relevant to our products (e.g., aerospace, automotive).
  • Familiarity with simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance in product development.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies in engineering projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems for new products.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and simulations to validate design concepts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with electrical and software systems.
  • Oversee the prototyping and testing of mechanical systems to ensure functionality and reliability.
  • Document design processes and maintain accurate records of project developments.

Skills:

The required skills in mechanical design and CAD software will be utilized daily to create and refine product designs, ensuring they meet both functional and aesthetic requirements. Strong project management skills will help in coordinating tasks and timelines, allowing for efficient workflow and timely project completion. Collaboration skills are essential for working effectively with other engineers and departments, ensuring that all aspects of the product are aligned. Problem-solving abilities will be critical when addressing design challenges and optimizing performance. Additionally, familiarity with industry standards will guide the engineer in maintaining compliance throughout the development process.
