1. Patient Care:

  • Admit and prepare patients for orthopedic surgeries or procedures.
  • Monitor vital signs and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Administer medications and injections as prescribed.
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
  • Assist in wound dressing, plaster application, traction setup, and removal.
  • Observe and report any changes in patient condition to the doctor.

2. Operation Theatre & Procedure Assistance:

  • Assist in orthopedic surgeries, implant handling, and sterile field maintenance.
  • Ensure proper sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Support surgeons during procedures like internal fixation, implant removal, arthroscopy, etc.

3. Post-Operative Care:

  • Manage pain and administer IV fluids/medications.
  • Perform post-operative wound inspection and dressing.
  • Monitor for complications such as infection, bleeding, or DVT.
  • Encourage early mobilization under physiotherapist's guidance.

4. Documentation & Coordination:

  • Maintain nursing notes, drug charts, and discharge summaries.
  • Coordinate with doctors, physiotherapists, and other staff for comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients and relatives about post-discharge care, physiotherapy, and follow-up.

5. Infection Control & Safety:

  • Follow aseptic techniques and hospital infection control protocols.
  • Dispose of bio-medical waste as per hospital guidelines.
  • Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the ward.
