*Scope
The
SAP BW Senior Software Engineer
will be responsible for second-line support and maintenance to minimize service disruption across Fossil's IT systems in the Direct Services group supporting the
POSDM application*
. The role includes problem determination, workaround resolution, root cause analysis, major incident management, application upgrades, reporting, and onboarding applications. The incumbent will provide mentorship to support analysts, ensure SLA adherence, and drive improvements across the application landscape.

*Key Responsibilities*

• Ensure systems remain fully operational and restore services quickly in case of disruption.
• Adhere to SLAs for incident response and restoration times while maintaining high service levels.
• Manage incidents and service requests through online tools, following Fossil IT RUN policies and procedures.
• Collaborate across teams to resolve medium-to-high complexity application incidents.
• Plan and execute application upgrades and deployments across test and production environments.
• Analyze business impact of incidents and minimize disruptions through proactive communication.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date application support documentation.
• Provide timely updates to customers and leaders on system status and incident resolutions.
• Track application changes with version control and ensure metrics are communicated.
• Proactively recommend process and technology enhancements.
• Mentor junior team members and analysts in POSDM support.
• Support off-hour on-call services and shift coverage as required.

General Skills
*Required Skills & Experience*

• 4–7 years of SAP BW/BI experience, including Data Modeling, Data Extraction, Data Loading, Scheduling, Monitoring, Reporting, and Performance Tuning.
• Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications and system configurations.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve job failures and data issues in production.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; team player and independent contributor.
• Quick learner with strong desire to master new technologies.

SAP BI Backend Expertise

• Proficient in designing/creating InfoObjects, InfoCubes, DSOs, InfoSets, MultiProviders, DataSources, Update Rules, Process Chains, PSA, Transformations, and DTPs.
• Experience with R/3 and ECC 6.0 systems.
• Basic knowledge of SD, MM, Inventory Management, and FICO modules.
• Expertise in full and delta data loads, LO Cockpit extraction, LIS, Generic, FI, MM, SD, and CO-PA extractions.
• Strong experience with Open Hub, SAP BODS, ABAP, BW-IP, and coordinating with source/target systems like ECC, POSDM, Navision, and GCP.
• Hands-on with process chain monitoring, error resolution, and performance tuning.
• SAP BODS knowledge will be an added advantage.

SAP BI Frontend Expertise

• Proficient with BEx Analyzer, BEx Query Designer, Web Application Designer, and advanced query building (filters, calculated/restricted key figures, variables, RRI).
• Experience in Business Objects (Universe Designer, WebI, Dashboards, Design Studio, Office for Analysis).
• Skilled at identifying and resolving data issues impacting reporting.
