Job Description – InDesign Book Designer

Position: Book Designer (Adobe InDesign Specialist)

We are Education Group, producing professional training manuals and eBooks.

We are building a publishing pipeline where content (created in Google Docs / Word) is transformed into professionally designed books for global distribution.

We are looking for an InDesign Book Designer who can take structured content and design visually consistent, print-ready books using Adobe InDesign.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain InDesign book templates (cover, TOC, chapter layouts, content pages, exercises, glossary).
  • Design and publish 300+ page training books with professional typography, margins, and layouts.
  • Import content from Word/Google Docs and style using Paragraph & Character Styles.
  • Set up and manage Master Pages for consistent design across chapters.
  • Generate Table of Contents, Indexes, and Glossaries using InDesign's automation tools.
  • Integrate images, tables, charts, and graphics into page layouts (ensuring consistency and proper resolution).
  • Prepare print-ready PDFs (CMYK, bleeds, crop marks) and digital formats (interactive PDFs, ePub).
  • Work with content writers/editors to ensure correct flow and structure.
  • Ensure brand guidelines (colors, fonts, logos) are applied consistently across all books.

Requirements

  • Proven experience designing books, reports, catalogs, or manuals in Adobe InDesign.
  • Strong skills in Typography, Grids, and Layout Design.
  • Knowledge of Data Merge for automating content-driven page generation.
  • Familiarity with TOC/Index generation in InDesign.
  • Ability to handle long documents (200+ pages) efficiently.
  • Basic Photoshop/Illustrator skills (for preparing images/graphics).
  • Attention to detail, strong sense of visual consistency.
  • Ability to deliver under tight deadlines.

Preferred

  • Experience in book publishing.
  • Understanding of eBook formats (EPUB, Kindle).
  • Experience collaborating via Google Docs / Drive.

Compensation

Salary is as per experience

Pay: ₹15, ₹25,000.00 per month
