Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop robust, scalable APIs using Python Django to support student onboarding, essay/recommendation creation, counselor collaboration, and admin dashboards.
  • Design and manage PostgreSQL schemas for essay versioning, user profiles, college application workflows, and credit usage tracking.
  • Integrate with AI APIs (OpenAI, Gemini, etc.) to power dynamic essay brainstorming, evaluation scoring, and conversational feedback loops.
  • Implement support for vector data management using platforms like Pinecone, AstraDB, or Weaviate, enabling semantic search and embedding-based analysis.
  • Build and maintain backend modules for session management, user authentication, role-based access control (student, counselor, admin), and autosave/version tracking.
  • Ensure seamless integration between backend services and frontend (React + NextJS) applications via clean API contracts.
  • Manage secure deployment using Docker, GitHub workflows, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), maintaining both staging and production environments.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with AI, frontend, and QA engineers to deliver sprint-wise milestones.

Requirements Mandatory Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Python Developer, with strong expertise in Django (FastAPI/Flask a plus).
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design, data modeling, and backend architecture.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
  • Familiarity with AI model integration workflows using APIs like OpenAI (Chat, TTS, STT).
  • Strong command over Git for version control and experience working in GitHub-based collaboration models.
  • Experience working with Docker for containerized development and deployments.
  • Basic familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for hosting and infrastructure management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to write clean, production-grade code.
Good To Have:
  • Experience with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, AstraDB) or embedding-based systems.
  • Familiarity with LangChain or similar frameworks for orchestrating LLMs.
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis) for auxiliary use cases.
  • Exposure to frontend stacks (React/NextJS) for better cross-team coordination.
  • Prior experience working on AI-driven applications, education platforms, or multi-role workflow systems.
